Jeremy Halstead was up again. It was a little after three in the morning, and that damn little monster was barking and growling upstairs again. He had been living in this apartment for a few months, and it had been almost non-stop trouble with that dog.

           He got out of bed dressed in a pair of boxers and a t-shirt. He went to the bathroom and did his business. He splashed his face with cold water and dried off with an ugly orange towel...
