Join the ChapterBuzz Service Directory

		Do you provide professional freelance services for authors? More and more writers are joining ChapterBuzz every day. These are dedicated authors who are working hard to write and publish their novels, many of whom could use a hand—with editing, book covers, book reviews, writing coaching, and more. That's where you come in. By listing (for free) in our Service Directory, you'll have the opportunity to connect with writers of all skill levels—communicating and working with them on your own terms.
		Get more clients. Every day, I feature a freelancer (hopefully you!) at the top of our Discovery Feed—which many writers peruse every day—in order to promote the services you offer and help you get more clients. The more people that visit your ChapterBuzz Directory profile, the closer to the top of the Discovery Feed you move—which means you get noticed by more people.
		Know instantly if a client is a fit. Depending on what services you offer, you may be able to get to know potential clients a little bit before you agree to work with them. For example, if you're an editor or writing coach, many writers have posted the chapters of their novels-in-progress publicly, meaning that you can read their manuscripts in advance to determine if they're a fit for you. If you're a book cover designer, you can see the genre of a client's book, a synopsis, and in some cases, temporary cover art that could reveal some of the author's preferences.

How to apply

Requirements:

• One-on-one help. Our authors prefer to work with you one-on-one. For this reason, you alone must be the point of contact for the client, as well as the one doing the majority of the work on the project. At this time, agencies are not accepted for listings in the Directory.

• Your own business. If you are offering services in exchange for money, then you must be licensed (or otherwise legally allowed) to operate a freelance business. This is to ensure that every listing in the Directory is presented as a business whose owner has a vested interest in quality and client satisfaction. (If you're offering a free service, such as book reviews, this requirement doesn't apply.)

• A professional headshot. A high-quality photo of yourself projects expertise and confidence, exactly what our writers are looking for when they choose a service provider.

• Services relevant to authors. The services you offer must be of use to authors who are in the process of writing and publishing a book. This would include writing coaching, editing, critiques, book cover design, publishing services, and more.

• Your own business website. You must have your own professional-looking website with your own domain name for the home page. For example, your website URL cannot begin with facebook.com, fiverr.com, freelancer.com, etc. Your site also shouldn't be a free WordPress blog—unless it has its own domain name, that is, a URL that doesn't contain wordpress.com.
  
  (Exception: if you offer book reviews or author interviews, you are allowed to have a wordpress.com domain or a youtube.com domain.)

• A portfolio page. You must provide a URL (on the same website as above) that links directly to at least 3 samples of your work.

• A testimonials (or review policy) page. You must provide a URL (on the same website as above) that links directly to a page containing at least 3 testimonials from past or current clients. For book reviewers, this URL should link to your review policy.

Optional:

• A discount for ChapterBuzz members. ChapterBuzz authors will be thrilled at the prospect of saving money when they hire you, and gives them a great incentive to do so. This creates goodwill, and can lead to repeat business. A discount also keeps you competitive with other service providers.
  
  Offering a discount is optional, and you can choose between 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30% off.
