Behind the Scene

Max Claussen had become well placed in the Nazi Party. He was a lean, well-coiffed blond, aristocratic figure who represented the Aryan ideal. Money oiled the Nazi wheel and Max, who was a successful businessman, willingly provided funds through his profitable blueprint copying company in Berlin. Unknown to Werner and the others, he was a Soviet agent. Himmler himself had placed him in Werner’s network. Soviet Intelligence had tasked him with discovering the person behind Werner’s network, codenamed Otto. He reported directly to Pavel Sudoplatov. Before Pavel returned to Moscow, Pavel assigned him the responsibility of Captain Hall’s safety.
