Cassandra screamed as he grabbed both she and Billy and drug them inside, all the groceries fell onto the ground and the car door stood wide open.
“Now, this is what’s going to happen. You two are going to sit here and shut up. Don’t make a sound, do you understand me? Not a freaking word.” They nodded silently.
Cassandra and Billy held onto each other as tightly as possible staring at Tate.
“ At this point, I have nothing to lose. If I go back to prison, I’ll rot there for the rest of my life. Not another chance at parole. But I couldn’t just sit there another two months waiting to see if I might get out. That place makes you crazy and if you didn’t already know, I’m already there.”
“How much longer, dad?” Daisy asked.
“When this plane lands in about thirty minutes, we’re going to grab our things as quickly as possible and run to the car. We have to get to Billy’s.” Buck said.
Katie sat quietly contemplating everything that was going on, trying to fathom how this was happening again. Even jail can’t hold him. That’s scary.
“We had it so good for so long,” Katie mumbled. “Then that freak came back, he always comes back.”
Billy and his mom were still sitting quietly on the couch. Billy was trying to console his mom as much as possible. Tate was just in the other room, but he could still see them from where he was at. “What is he even doing Billy whispered. “We’ve been sitting here for hours”
The flight attendant’s voice rang over the speaker in the plane. “Please fasten your seatbelts. We are preparing to land.”
“Oh, thank goodness.” Daisy said.
They’re adrenalin had already started pumping and sitting still pretending everything is ok was getting very hard to do.
In another ten minutes, they were on the ground. They all ran as fast as they could off the plane and to grab their luggage and head to the car.
