Chapter Five
The Fair!

The sun was shining brighter over the mountain tops and the aroma of the coffee was stronger and more inviting than normal. She sat up, stretched her arms and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She stepped out of bed and hopped in the shower to prepare herself for the greatest day of her life. Downstairs, Randy fixed her a cup of coffee and brought it up to her. He knocked on her door and then heard her singing in the shower. She had a voice as sweet as honey and he always loved to hear her sing. He pushed the door open slightly and then walked in and sat the cup on her nightstand. He smiled as he was walking out and saw a single stem rose lying on her dresser and a picture of her mother taped to the mirror. He heard the shower turn off as he made his way downstairs to start breakfast. She got out of the shower and walked into her walk-in closet to pick out her outfit for the fair. As she passed her night stand, she saw her cup of coffee sitting there and it brought a smile to her face. She loved how her daddy spoiled her. She took a sip and was surrounded by hints of hazelnut and mocha. He had made her favorite! "It really will be a great day." She exclaimed smiling. She picked out her favorite blue and white flower summer dress with her white wedged sandals. She tied her hair up, got dressed and put her make-up on and made her way downstairs. "Don't you look like a pedal on a daisy!" Randy said smiling. She glowed at the comment. "Thanks daddy," she said. "Have you heard anything from Buck yet?" She asked sitting down. "He called a little while ago, said he would be here within the hour." he replied as he stirred the eggs around in the pan. She stared out the french doors leading to the back and into the vast fields of green. She was lost in a day dream of dancing under the stars at the fair. She envisioned him holding her close to his body, feeling his breath on her neck as they danced. She could almost smell his cologne already as she lay her face against his chest, she then looks up into his eyes, prepares her lips for a kiss and he lowers he face to hers.... "Are you hungry?" Randy asked as he waved his hands in front of her face. She snapped from her dream embarrassed. "Oh, yeah sorry." she whispered shaking her head. "You sure were lost in that one." Randy laughed as he brought a fork full of eggs to his mouth. She laughed because she couldn't really argue. "I'm so torn on what to do daddy," she muttered. " I can dream all day and sometimes night about each of them and when I'm alone with either one of them, it just feels right." she explained. She picked at her food that was sitting in front of her growing cold. "Matters of the heart are the hardest to deal with Peach," randy said in reply. " You better eat before your food gets cold, plus, what is it you always tell me?" He went on. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." She said smiling.

Buck hopped in the shower excited to be able to see Katie and to be able to spend the day with her. He stopped at Merriman's Fresh Market on the way and ran in to get Katie a surprise. "Good Morning Buck," Mr. Merriman said with a smile. "Can I help you with anything?" He asked. "Nah, I don't reckon so." Buck answered. "I'm headed to Katie's and we're going to be headed out to the fair today he said excitedly, I just need one thing to start the day right." He ran back to the flowers. They were almost as fresh as you could get them without picking...
