Comment of the Moment: “General Jagwi, my first thought is to throw you in the dog pound. Those are also my second and third thoughts.”

 

 

General Jagwi stood firmly at attention. He dared not move. He did not allow his eyes to follow the back and forth gait of the Glorious and Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea who paced behind his desk. Jagwi stared at nothing.

Finally, the Leader stopped and resumed sitting at his desk. For minutes, long and agonizing for Jagwi, the Leader sat and stared at Jagwi. Finally, the Leader spoke.

“General Jagwi, my first thought is to throw you in the dog pound. Those are also my second and third thoughts.”

Jagwi did not speak.

“Upon careful consideration, I have decided upon a course of action.”

Jagwi’s knees trembled.

“I believe that you, General Jagwi, caused the problem with the Middle Easterners wanting to take my head off.”

Jagwi trembled from the knees down.

“You caused this problem when you promised what you did not deliver.”

Jagwi shook from the hips down.

“General, I want you to fix this problem.”

Jagwi almost wet himself with relief. He had a chance after all.

Jagwi asked, “May I take nuclear matter from our arsenal?”

“If you want to be thrown in the dog pound when you are through, yes of course you may. If you want to live when you are through, absolutely not. Although I’m not sure I won’t throw you in there anyway.”
